Hey! Stop being me! I used to take dad to those UR Klezmer concerts when I was baby-less and could get cheap tickets. It rules. I miss it. And, I so adore me some Xmas lights. I'm thinking about writing about them in the near future so stop taking all my ideas, dammit! I love you -- go buy me an Xmas present!! I have your birthday present already and you will shower me with kisses when you see it (and it doesn't involve peeps or circus peanuts).

Oh, whatever, dude. What are you writing about tomorrow? I've already thought of it so you might as well give up.

"Slave trails"???? The fuck? Do tell. I live in a blue state and we don't have that kind of history. Also, best Xmas decor I've EVER seen was in the snooty, rich, mansion area where my law school is located. In front of one of the rich, snooty mansions (which also happened to be a very busy corner, kitty-corner from my law school) was a GIANT, INFLATABLE HOMER SIMPSON DRESSED AS SANTA!!! It SO ruled that I made my brother drive over to see it immediately. It is not up again this year and I am thoroughly distraught.

Yes, here in the south we have much horrifying history involving slavery. The slave trails run along the river - following the path the slaves walked when they arrived in Virginia. They've been preserved as part of the history of the area.

"I'll be halfway up a hill so steep it makes me wonder why I haven't actually tipped over backwards. Usually these "hey, I'm defying gravity!" thoughts come right before your bike actually does tip over backwards" Heehee! I find myself on the reverse of this, standing at the top of a hill so steep that I wonder why I haven't been sucked over the edge, right before my skis decide that NOW is the time to find the fall line... (And there is a reason that they call it the 'fall line'... *sigh)
