Do you think "my father's vegetable plot of passive-aggressiveness" would be a suitable title to a novel by Alice Sebold or Jane Smiley? Or maybe a slim volume by Jeanette Winterson? Perhaps you could write an excerpt for us? I know what you mean by real tomatoes, by the way. Most grocery store tomatoes are just bulbs of bitter water or spongy pink stones placed in the produce section to mock your salad desires. They're just sitting on the green plastic backing, going "Phooey to your salad desires".

Jeez, Adrien, "Hamilton Place Mall" is where Betsy & I used to shop as teenagers! Picadilly Cafeteria is where our Mom took elderly relatives for Sunday brunch and dragged us kids along. I am actually wearing an ancient pair of cropped pants I remember buying at Hamilton Place. Your latest entry cracked me up by the way, let along including this little blast from the past...
