Oh my. So, you probably wouldn't want to use her as a reference because she couldn't be trusted to give you a good review even if she promised you she'd do so--she sounds like that much of a psychopath. And to get snitty when the roads were like they were yesterday, too... Up here it took people 2.5 hours to go from Springfield to Alexandria. Anyone coming over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge took three hours. And there were accidents all over the place--even on Metro! An SUV spun out and went through the fence and landed on the tracks. (Lucky for them they didn't land on the third rail.) The roads were cold, and the snow froze, so for once, even I bit my tongue and didn't rag on drivers down here...well, not too much. Anyway, for her to make comments like that, as though she'd rather have you risk an accident than go home an hour early, that's just wrong. Sorry for the novel.

Your Pugtastic link is being contrary and as unwilling to work with you as your hosebeast of a boss. What a hosebeast.

Yup, any boss that is more concerned about answering some phones than the safety of her employees is a bad one. That really sucks.

your boss reminds me of an aunt that would promise us candy if we shoveled her entire driveway - then gave us each two of those orange / black halloween candy things. i'm glad you are looking for a new place to work.

Hm. You remember that massive power outage the US had in August. Well, I was working at the evil, souless bastard of a university library when the lights went out around 4. The head librarian gathered everyone up and said we could leave since it didn't seem like the power was getting re-connected. Then she pointed at me and said, "Except you. You need to stay until closing so that if someone comes and needs a book, they can check it out." The hell? I had to stay until 5:30 in a dark, lightless library that also happened to be empty. Besides, how the heck was I going to check out a book with no power? Oh yeah. The old fashioned way. No one came. Because who would be stupid enough to go to a library in the middle of a massive power outtage? The bitch. Anyway, long story short, I feel your pain.
